Clearly you don't know Digimon. But to say it worked is an overstatement. I am not American and do not share the same taste of comedy. While Pokémon was created for children, Digimon is for older viewers. The comedy shove and stuffed into Digimon is too much. The Fox Kids dub was the worst, overglazing comedy a tragedy, oversimplifying a situation. Digimon are serious most of the time, something you don't expect on Pokémon, but what they do on the Digimon movie is disrespect. Even I as a 10 year old didn't find that amusing.
