Game Awards 2024 Nominations Seemingly Cause Sales Spike for Games
Reposting the recent sales upticks, none of which came close to the sales for Black Myth Wukong, which sold over approximately 21 million units worldwide, and is the obvious GOTY for 2024.
None of these can compete with 21 million units, despite being fine games in their own right:
Astro Bot: 61% Elden Ring: 38% Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth: 268% Metaphor: ReFantazio: 172% Silent Hill 2 remake: 43%Why not post the actual sales of the game in totality and compare the outcomes with other releases this year like Black Myth Wukong? Why not talk about the numbers of all time players? Black Myth Wukong is the top downloaded PS5 game of 2024 and Game Science announced a physical copy of the game would be available December 12, 2024, which spiked sales for this game, so why not mention that too? By PlayStation Lifestyle article Michael Ruiz, his own admission, Black Myth Wukong has single handedly increased PS5 sales, and has on its own sold this new console with more units than any other game has done this year as of the time this article was published. Black Myth Wukong has already won a Golden Joysticks Award, and won the title “The Ultimate Game of The Year”, as well as best visual design. Black Myth Wukong has already beat Final Fantasy VII Rebirth in those two categories. It would be counterintuitive to say that Black Myth Wukong would not also win the same award against competition the game just beat in the exact same competition.
Game Awards 2024 Nominations Seemingly Cause Sales Spike for Games
I have played through all the game of the year nominees, some of them were just okay, none came close to Black Myth Wukong, which is the clear winner for this year, as per Games Rant poll asking fans which games the most wanted to win, oh and the over approximately 21 million copies sold worldwide of Black Myth Wukong, which was so iconic and true to it’s origins that many people were given the day off so they could experience this masterpiece as it tells the iconic tale of Journey to the West, which I am now reading thanks to this game because it actually evoked emotions when playing through the game, which I did finally finish. Aside from triumph after defeating the bosses, I was immersed in a veery impressive work of art that is Black Myth Wukong. The music for this game definitely provides some of the emotional energy that one cannot help but to feel when playing this game, and it is evident that the score had great attention to detail poured into it, as each note takes you on an unforgettable journey alongside the next iteration of The Destined One, who is destined to become the unstoppable force that was Sun Wukong. The loyalty to the source material, and the fact that much of Dragonball is based on Journey to the West, added to the immediate affinity that I had for this game within the first five minutes of playing it. I really felt as if I was swept away into the iconic story of a Chinese legend honoring The Monkey King. I originally got into video games because of the emotions they could evoke, aside from triumphant boss battles of course, I cannot recall the last time a game evoked such emotions in me. I cannot wait for the sequel or DLC from Game Science, which I believe is a relatively smaller studio under/ with Tenecent, they certainly have the recipe for success, and for anyone that hasn’t played this masterpiece of a game, I implore you to give yourself the opportunity to experience Black Myth Wukong.
Gamers Said: Which Games Deserve A GoTY Nomination for 2024?
You already said in your video “Most of you voted for Black Myth Wukong”
Over approximately 21 million copies worldwide for this game across all platforms, and for the ones like me who were fortunate enough to experience this masterpiece, especially since it came from Game Science, which seems to be a smaller studio compared to Ubisoft, etc, (I think it is smaller anyway) yet they managed to shatter previous sales records and capture the imagination and well-deserved recognition from fans. This game remained so true to its origins that many were given the day off from work to experience the living legend of the game Back Myth Wukong. It is a clear winner of Game of The Year by a landslide this year.
Black Myth Wukong
Dustborn Review
Black Myth Wukong is a story about a monkey. There are about a dozen women in this game, so it is evident that you, like so, so many others, failed to get past chapter 2 or else you would know that, ergo, you are 100% wrong. There is nothing that Black Myth Wukong needed. Your comment, “the only con was a lack of diversity “ is what is wrong with the current state of the game industry. Also, it is spelled “Wukong”, not wucong. If you did any research at all you would have known that there were about a dozen women in the game, give or take, and that the game is about animals. Please tell the world what you think should be more diverse in a game about animals? Your comment shows everyone that reads it that you don’t actually consider aspects of the game that matter. If you did, you would have commented on them, such as this game having epic music, amazing production that prioritizes the story and honors the narrative. Just so you know, this game was based off a Chinese story that is so iconic and beloved that many were given the day off from work to play this game. How can you degrade this masterpiece and a living manifestation of one of the most popular stories in Chinese history. Sounds to me like you are trying to find something wrong with this perfect game. Well, that’s just too bad for you because it is going to win game of the year, and everyone that nominated it and voted for it did so in stark contrast to your tone deaf comment calling the dedication to the iconic Chinese story “a lack of diversity “. It is going to be a glorious day for this game and for Game Science and for common sense when this game wins all the awards this year, and hopefully people like you will perhaps consider that it is the forced, superficial inclusion of diversity EVERYWHERE, which you yourself admitted you wanted, that causes terrible games like Dustborn to be created, which, in the same sentence, you also said how terrible Dustborn was.
