It is not correct that Aeriths feelings for Cloud are a result of any lingering harbored feelings for Zack and devs have done a lot to ensure people stop making this mistake. Aerith tells Cloud rather directly that it is him she wants to be with or wishes to see, not Zack. It is true that Clouds physical mannerisms that were similar to Zack are what initially attracted Aerith to him, but she quickly noticed as did the players who have played Crisis Core that they couldn't be any further apart from being the similar. Marline even informs Zack of Aeriths feelings for Cloud teasing them with lovebird sounds. This does not mean she does not have feelings for Zack any more, but her feelings for Cloud is the latest she informs the player of and are meant for Cloud, not Zack.

Please stop promoting this misunderstanding as people actually believe it. It is poor media literacy at best.
