I can confirm that not only did I meet Charles Martinet last year at Fan Expo Vancouver, but he also mentioned during his show that involved Q & A's from the audience that sandbox Mario games are his favourite Mario games and that he would love to voice Mario for those games. Open world Mario games are sandbox Mario games and so is Super Mario Maker. For any sandbox Mario game, expect Charles Martinet to voice Mario instead of Kevin Afghani. Luigi's Mansion is also an open world game. Charles Martinet will be voicing Luigi in any future Luigi's Mansion games.
