When you can't walk into a single LGS and not see a Mana Crypt, Dockside extortionist, and Jeweled Lotus at the table, it make it less fun and engaging to the players that are there to try to enjoy the game.

It's rather disingenuous to say that these cards didn't impact the fun of the format, as I've had players stop coming to my LGS because they often got pinned against a table of people using those to win out turn 3-4 in what is supposed to be a casual for fun format to use older cards.
