Eh? You can refund passive nodes in the Ascendancy. You cannot change your ascendancy pick the same way you cannot change your class.

Path of Exile 2's Endgame Has One Major Flaw

500 hours clocked in the game.

I think this is all a conscious decision to turn the game more of a game of strategy than maximizing DPS. The idea is that you as a player get to choose the risk-reward. It keeps even the softcore experience more in focus as you really don’t want to die.

I do think that untriggered events like breaches or expeditions should NOT be consumed from the map if those were not triggered.
