For some, it isn't even the story driven mods that they want, but QoL mods are extremely popular. Whether it's changing the inventory to be more user friendly, larger chests, changing the way you have to fish/gather/mine, etc. If you love vanilla Oblivion Remastered, great! I'm glad. But there are players with specific QoL issues that they want either patched or modded.
For Oblivion Remastered, a Single Missed Opportunity May Have Killed Its Chance at Longevity
I have bought (and chosen to not buy) games based purely off how mod friendly it is. I love Skyrim, and I especially love modded Skyrim. I play Stardew Valley exclusively modded, I just find vanilla SV to be a bit boring. And until they either patch *all* the current issues, or allow modders to easily create QoL mods, I will not be buying Oblivion Remastered. TBH, I might not even buy it if they patch it but still insist on making mods difficult.
I have limited money to spend on games, why would I spend it on a game where I can't fix things that bug me?
