Honestly, I feel like it's okay if they don't make part two. I think these days, any movie that's good id expected to have part two but it really isn't necessary, and besides, it would be very disappointing if they don't meet expectations which are usually high for superhero movies. I honestly don't really know about the dcu version, but I'm open to many more iterations of the character, besides, maybe I'll finally get to see a good robin and batfamily on the big screen.
"Too many films without solid foundations??"... The films he has announced are only the ones going into development, aside from that, all he has said is the estimated amount of media that'll drop each year and you can't blame the dude for trying to build hype
And I don't believe they're trying to catch up to the MCU... Just cause it's a shared superhero universe doesn't just mean it's an MCU copycat for crying out loud
