See AllSquare Enix Shut Down a Popular Final Fantasy 14 Mod, But Now It's Changing the Game
Considering what Yoshi-P said when the plug-in (Mare wasn't a mod, it was a plug-in) was shut down. He stated that he understood why people used it and that he personally didn't have a problem with it. However, his team had to go after it due to plug-ins like Mare being against the law in Japan and when the maker of Mare doxed themselves, Square had to by law step in and issue the letter. Also, for you to say that people shouldn't be doing something in-game is honestly kinda silly. Who are you to tell anyone how to enjoy their time in a game that THEY are paying for? If you want to start forking out money to pay their sub fees, then you can tell them how to enjoy the game. Until then, mind your business.
