"It Can Be a Tremendous Benefit to Players" ARC Raiders Boss Defends Controversial AI Usage
While the use of AI tools to develop Arc Raiders is significantly less agreegious than titles like The Alters or the latest black ops titles, I still dont find it acceptable in the slightest. Any use of LLM'S or Text - Talk in the development of anything, but especially creative works, is an unacceptable business practice to squeeze more profit out of increasingly lower quality products.
Let's clarify things, for the inevitable trolls. I am a Mechanic and general contractor, so tools are my life's blood. I'm grounded in the real world where things break, problems can have more than one solution, and change is an inevitable principal of life. One of those changes is advancements in technology, which sounds great on the surface, until you look and how technology is progressing and the consequences of it. Generative AI, and its ultimate end goal, "true" artifical intelligence, is a perfect example of a technology that should NEVER exist. The development of generative AI is for the express purpose of profits by invalidating human life while developing a new race of subservient entities.
Unlike most tools I use, which are inanimate objects that can not affect any aspect of reality with out intentional interaction from a physical being under normal circumstances, generative AI is impacting reality significantly whether actively in use or not. In the last 5 years, AI has gone from a novel technology with limited impact on day to day life, to a technology insidiously present in virtualy every aspect of life. The global economy currently hangs in the balance on AI's next level of control over day to day life. Entire ecosystems are being eradicated to create data centers and nuclear power plants to feed them. Human labor of all skill levels is being made obsolete. Worst of all, the gap between real everyday people that make the world go round and the "elites" controlling the development of society grows exponentially with every passing day.
