This is a single player game, there is no “economy” here, who cares how many credits you have, it you have a lot, you earned it! This isn’t an MMO, you don’t need money sinks got fear of devaluation of in game items players are trying to sell.
This is a ridiculous point/article in my opinion. I haven’t heard anyone asking for this in anything except perhaps Fallout 76, which is the only multiplayer game that has some semblance of an economy.
While I feel it's fair for people to get paid for their work, let's be honest... This is about Bethesda getting money! You want me to think they aren't taking a cut and 100% goes to the modder? I would agree with 5-10% to cover server costs, but I bet they're getting 30% or more of every transaction! Then they put out their own paid stuff and make theirs "achievement friendly", while everyone else's isn't? Even if it's just a skin?? As always, they're tilting the scales in their favor. The house always wins.
I had hoped when Microsoft bought Bethesda, Bethesda could stop worrying about the money side of the business and leave that to Microsoft, then Bethesda could just focus on making great games! I'm not seeing that realized, everything with Bethesda is still money. I feel they sold the reputation and good will they earned with gamers to cash in on their name. Very disappointing.
