Anyone that has modded games knows that major version updates will brick the functionality of the installed mods. This is why it is recommended to turn off auto-update in steam if you mod your game. This was especially highlighted with Skyrim.

Short campaigns don't exist. Even the Lost Mines campaign can be a year long depending on play schedule.
