SAO is literally just a video game and Danmachi no one comes from our world afaik, but isekai just means other world (ALTHOUGH IT IS DIFFERENT THAN FUCKING FANTASY, which is why for some fucking reason people seem to mix it up when modern day Earth isn't shown as "isekai" for sone fucking reason..) But yeah, only requirement for the genre isekai is from one world to another

In normal definition that's what it should be, because if it's not from our world to another world, or from another world to another other world, or fron another world to our world, then it's just FANTASY, PLUS SAO is neither, nothing CLOSE to isekai

Seriously, I'm always pissed when SAO is classified isekai, like not only is it NEVER in another world, but after half the first season it gets less and less isekai, and then closer to isekai for a while before again really not being close to isekai
