Ff tactics is story is not comforting... Like for real. What was the most comforting part of the prolouge? Was it when the main characters best friends sister was murdered by your traveling companion out of pure apathy. Or maybe it was the end when that same friend murdered a good woman who loved him and he in Turn loved so that he could take power and abolish the caste system responsible for his sisters death. Or maybe having to fight your half brothers along the way as they and others are possessed by demons that the church espoused as holy beings. Your right just thinking of it makes me all cozy lol

The only solution is either disc or load a save file from before the labyrinth. I know the problem with ng+ is they always want you to play the game again. Tbf what you want isn't a modified ng+ you want something akin to the mechanic from ds2 where you could respawn the boss at a higher difficulty without entering the next cycle. I don't think it affected side quests tho. That's a whole different thing. As far as quests go tho seems like to get the reward you should have to shlep it anyway

I'd say maria has changed alot. Maybe it's my knowledge of the lore coupled with the small changes to story line, but at times it's almost as if she knows what's up or at least the town is influencing her decision making more. Like when she screams that James is supposed to protect her with such vehemence. She acts as if she knows she's a manifestation of thr town in his wife's face
