My only issue with the ending was the fact that I had just beaten Dead Island, so I fully expected any game with an unseen voice guiding my character to turn against said character by the end.

I guess it depends on which game you play first, so you kind of create your own chicken/egg scenario.

Yeah, that ending was kind of a gut punch. It made every death feel kind of pointless, because it was just going to repeat the whole cycle.

Maybe it's supposed to be a commentary on human history and how we keep making the same mistakes over and over, but still...

I'm fairly certain (based on both miniseries and having read the book repeatedly) that the Hand of God wasn't from Randall Flagg, it was from Mother Abigail. Maybe i need to re-read/rewatch, but I'm fairly certain it was Mother Abigail's spirit that detonated the bomb.

I still think it's hilarious every time I see someone praising Earthbound all these years later. I always wonder where everyone was back in the day. Me, I was waking up in the middle of the night, turning the game on because I had to know "What happens next? What happens next? WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?!" Sure, I had the player's guide, but it wasn't the same...
