When you say stealing ideas, what are you referring to? The one that comes to mind for me is, The nightmare before Christmas, yes, Tim Burton did help produce it, but he did not actually own the script or to be more factual the short story that Tim Burton wrote while he worked at Disney. However, Disney did work closely with Tim Burton as they developed the film together Even if it was not the jolliest working relationship. And by no means am I saying that Disney hasn't won lawsuits on technicalities or paying the best lawyers. But but just to claim that they stole something cuz it seems sort of similar isn't going to win very many cases.
Did anyone read this guy's script? I can't seem to find it but from the basic clip notes that Google gave me this surfer boy goes back in time to solve riddles given to him by a bunch of different Polynesian deities. And after he solves his final riddle he gets to go back to his time and save the island. His story is using historical figures from Polynesian history, which you can't copyright, if you could have a claim to historical deities, then we could never use Egyptian gods or Norse mythology or Greek gods ever again. So the similarities between using Polynesian deities is not enough to win his claim. If you try to claim crossing an ocean to save a land, well that's the same as going into the forest or crossing a desert. This guy needs to have like word for word stealing in order to win his case. Also he was distributing this script and everything And nobody wanted it, he claims it's getting a live action film being made and I haven't found a single thing. Anytime you search for Bucky the surfer boy, the only thing that comes up is this lawsuit.
