I don't think the D's are a family. It's the will of D not the family of D. I think the will of D is the will of the devil, which inverted becomes the will of god. They were simply branded as devils because they challenge the false god. The will of god is to strike the false gods (the real devils) down from their high thrones. Those who carry that will might go about accomplishing this through different means and with different intentions, but they all aim toward that same goal.

I read this a little different. I don't read and conclude Roger experienced defeat through battle. I believe something else happened. If Roger had lost in a battle that fierce, where are his scars? The damage here wasn't physical, but psychological. Roger saw or found out something about Rocks that damaged him psychologically. Was it expectation vs reality? I don't know, but what I do know is that when Akainu and Kuzan fought, that battle left some scars to prove it happened. Roger and Whitebeard fought a monster like rocks and NEITHER of them took one lasting scar from such a fierce monster? Even Kaido had something to show how terrifying Oden was. I don't believe Rocks and Roger fought as fierce a battle as Oda is making it seem. Something else happened or nature of the battle was not as straightforward, strength for strength, as we think. I believe this reality is what scarred Roger's mind, but left his body still in one piece. I believe the mystery of Rocks and his strength will be something like the mystery of Imu, and them being not what we were expecting.

There's a cool down period for that world cutting slash. If Gojo was able to dodge it, once or twice at most, Sukuna wouldn't have been able to use it so quickly again. Gojo's cursed emegry had returned and Sukuna was at his limit. There's no way Sukuna is winning this had Gojo not dropped his guard as Gege stated. Even Sukuna has a ceiling, and Gojo pushed him to that point just as much as he pushed Gojo to his. Sukuna got lucky. That's OK. Luck is part of the battle.
