I agree.. I feel the same about the Sex and The City franchise. What's amazing about Anime and makes it distinct is because the storyline and characters are so developed and dynamic simply because of the culture it comes from. Japan if not all of Asia has strong connection to our culture and land and history it only enriches the modern era. America being a fairly new state/nation is essentially built on capitalism and greed... Which inherently effects the artistry... Making it void and shallow. The we want more or should've ended a long time ago is symptomatic of this cultural disparity between east and west. Naruto is an example of longevity when its anchored in cultiral inheritance.
