SomethingSilly They can just implement the option to host a private server. The cost is then shifted to the user who wants to preserve their account. Counterstrike used to have hundreds of private servers back in the day.

At least offer the option to host your own server. This is more about the fact that we don't own anything we pay for anymore. It's "licensed" and availability is at the whim of the publisher.

I've had it for years bc of the $1/ month hack, but this year is the first time it has been worth it with Clair, Oblivion, Avowed, and Doom. I do feel like it cheapens the gaming experience. When I haven't spent direct money on a game, I have no motivation to necessarily play a game on gamepass. My subscription is ending on Monday so I forced myself to finish Doom, but the other 3 games I'll be waiting until the holidays when they go on sale if I really want to buy them. I won't be renewing gamepass since they got rid of the $1/month hack.
