See AllNew Battlefield Game Gets Encouraging Update
That's the thing. They haven't been listening to the player base since BF4. To me, that was the last good entry in the series. They started getting swayed by political and social movements and included them into their games, ignoring their long time dedicated players. In recent years they've lost investors, hired multiple "indie" or 2nd rate studios to design each installment, resulting in getting rid of the competitive aspects like hardcore modes, no fully customizable servers and no clans and clan tags. Basically turning Battlefield into a mindless jumble of its former self. 2042 was so bad, they reduced the price of it to $30 a month after it's launch and Steam actually gave refunds to their customers, voluntarily! That speaks volumes. Thanks, but no thanks. I've moved onto other shooters and other genres.
