See AllThe Next Official Star Trek Movie Has A Trailer
Am I excited for the Sea Trek Section 31 movie?
No.
I'm one of those unapologetic Trek fans that prefer the optimism Trek SHOULD be.
Not a fan of Dark Trek and never will be. The current makers have lost whatever microscopic clue they might've had on the franchise in knowing what made it a success and how to expand on that without wandering off like a lost drunk in a bar.
Like it does now.
The LAST THING anyone making Star Trek should say "I'm making *my* vision of Star Trek! It's MY VISION!!" Once they start regurgitating that egomaniacal nonsense, it's not Star Trek anymore. If it doesn't adhere to *Roddenberry's* vision of it, it's safe assumed it's gonna be Garbage Trek.
Or Clone Trek.
Or Bad Copy Trek.
That's why TNG, DS9, and VOY were great; they all stayed within what Trek is and were all different from each other. THOSE showrunners "got it". They all stayed within its original premise, even when no starship was involved.
We need THAT kind of Trek. Not weepy, whispery, admissions of perceived inadequacies that need assurances "everything's gonna be ok".
