10 Most Iconic Cities in Dungeons & Dragons, Ranked
I mean iconic cities in Forgotten Realms, and no Calimport? The oldest inhabited city and the jewel of Calimshan. And it's uniqueness is off the charts as it's divided into wards, and they're all governed and look differently. Then, you have its underbelly. Its a black market, smuggler paradise made by an over powerful djinn that a faction wants to bring back, while other people hate Genasi there. Its so amazing to start a campaign there.
Another great city, the Iron City of Dis, to which Matt Mercer covered really well in Critical Role. But, everything being made of iron. The giant iron tower where Dispater rules absolutely. The air is constantly smothered with smoke and ash coming from the vents in the ground. The constant heat coming from everywhere that just brings a level of paranoia. Then, you have the infernal markets where you can purchase fiendish relics or mortal souls.
Both of these are wonderful cities, but not saying the ones you listed aren't. Cause I certainly did make an NPC recently Geralt of Ravnica.
