See AllAttempt to Sell PS4 to GameStop Ends in Confusion
The system was likely messy/damaged so it would be getting traded in as a defective. This effectively half's the value if not more.
A missing controller will need to be replaced. So a pre-owned ps4 controller will be charged onto the trade, if punched in correctly it will be 40% off the sale price.
While the missing cables would average $1-$2 each.
I have never seen a ps4 pro get traded in without having to charge it as defective as they are all in desperate need of a full cleaning.
Trading for cash instead of store credit will also detriment the value. Honestly they lucked out it was even -$5.
But yeah, if you're just thinking about trading in now, either wait for a special trade in bonus to be running....or don't bother.
Sometimes you can get 5%-20% extra trade bump if you preorder something...even if you just want to cancel the preorder later on.
Of course that's all assuming you have someone that's trained, doing the trade. Otherwise it's probably their first time doing a trade solo....
