The online features you dummy, you can still play the campaign, you'll just never get to play multi-player and do the rank up system, until they come out with emulator servers

They do it in 10 year cycles, it was about 10 years ago they shut down the battlefields before that, one being my favorite game of all time Battlefield 2 on P.C. Haven't been able to play 24 hours strait since that game
