What? Goku didn't have ssj2 in cell arc. Gohan got it WHILE fighting cell. Grade 4 is like mastered ssj1, when they were in the forms for many days.

Well the piccolo that we know is not the same as demon king piccolo in DB. I forgot the details but I think after Goku defeated Demon King Piccolo, he kinda like created a baby or smth that became the normal piccolo that we know now. But that would make piccolo a few years older. So maybe their counting piccolo+ kami or piccolo+ nail.
