To the people trashing on Frieren, don't say it's bad, because you hate good narrative and have a 5 second attention span. Be real, you only like SL because of the fights, nothing wrong with that, but stop hating on Frieren. If you listened to everyone in the community and checked MAL you'd see that no one actually wanted SL as #1, maybe nominated, but not AOTY. I did watch and read SL and it has an interesting storyline, which people are hating too much on, but is leagues behind Frieren. There are other aspects that are good though. The article writer though is indeed being very unfair. And also there isn't a chance in hell Frieren s2 won't blow up, it's one of the most highly anticipated anime for a reason

It's not because it's woke. It's probably because the writer of the article got pissed that SL won Anime of The Year. While I do believe Frieren is leagues ahead and should have won AOTY, I have no problem with Solo Leveling, I actually really really enjoyed it.

While in everything else SL is very good, it is lacking in narrative. In comparison Frieren excels at everything. While Frieren is indeed leagues ahead of Solo Leveling, it still doesn't deserve this. I really enjoyed Solo Leveling and even read it and I don't see the point in always comparing it narratively with something else. It excels at other things, but everyone fixates on the narrative, which I don't find bad, but kind of intriguing

For some people the first episodes seem boring due to a lack of action, but I think that's good, because that way it builds it's incredible narrative and is still intriguing and it later on has a lot more action. If you finished it and didn't enjoy that's a you problem
