I wish people could be free to create, even if their games borrow heavily from other games. Isn't that how it's always worked? The only threat to the likes of Nintendo is losing sales to games that are better than theirs or more fun. The solution is to make better games themselves.
It reeks of inseecurity, and admission that their products are no longer as good as they used to be.
