Sadly I'm a victim of the liquid metal issue... My PS5 had never been opened either! Liquid metal dripped from the GPU and shorted the power supply. When the PSU went, it also surged through my HDMI and USB ports, which also took out the Thrustmaster T300 I was using at the time, as well as the controller board for my TV!! Sony's response? "Sorry, out of warranty period and not our problem." The repair from UBreakIFix was within $80 of a new PS5 Slim at the time, so, forced pseudo-upgrade. Needless to say I'll keep my consoles sideways from now on.
