Trust me, there aren't many animes out there that could compete with Frieren, she didn't take Number 1 spot by sheer luck.

The story was nice, but hasn't aged well, that's why you have Jojo in the list that was hevaly inspired by it.

Jojo might not be loved by all, but the mangaka made a lot of effort to stand out and above all advance the story tropes with the times and trends for his series hence why every iteneration of Jojo feels refreshing and modern. Where HokutoNoKen, sticked with the 1st original formula. "Guys gets his girl robbed and fights to get her back, hence and repeat till he beat everyone and be happy ever after with her." Basicly, after reading the 1st chapter Is not hard to know how it will end.
