See AllDiablo 4 Players Frustrated By Cosmetic Prices for Berserk Event
You do not need to have OCD to enjoy spending money on how your character looks. People have been collecting things for centuries. Statues, art, jewelry. These things have always held meaning for people. Today, it is not much different. People spend thousands decorating their homes, collecting rare cards, or customizing their cars. Skins in games are just a digital version of that.
And just like real life statues or pieces of collectible cards, these items do not offer any practical benefit in daily life. They are purely artistic. People get them because they enjoy the creativity, the design, or the feeling it gives them.
For some people, 150 dollars is just an hour or two of work. If they appreciate the effort that went into creating a cosmetic item, then trading a bit of their time for someone else’s artistic work makes perfect sense.
What 150 dollars means to you might mean something completely different to someone else. Not everyone is focused on gaining an advantage in gameplay. Some just want to stand out, support the developers, or express themselves. And many players actually prefer when purchases are cosmetic only, because it keeps the game fair and competitive.
