Not a lot happened in the first few episodes of DB either. Mostly just a Goku learning that there's a lot of world outside his mountain. Right now, we're in the world building of Demon World. The entire premise of the series is that Goku is stronger than 99% of Daima, just like in DB. It'll ramp up when they get out of the introduction arc.
