Latency bias is nothing new in Anime. Whatever is newest seems to get the "hottest" tag. I like Maomao, I like Frieren, they are different characters in different moments in time for anime. I remember everyone in the trades pushing 02 as "Hottest character" just before Darling in the Frankxx crashed and burned. Give things time to settle down and see where things stand 2 years from now.
