I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt in this regard. Unlike fake testimonies, this isn't something that would benefit public perception if fake. I also know that the outrage fetishists will go off-platform (IE, official support channels), and harass individuals who have absolutely nothing to do with the game's development. This isn't something unprecedented, and it's the equivalent of some manchild throwing a tantrum at a Wendy's cashier because corporate pulled a limited menu item.
