I'm calling BS on this for many reasons; Both developers and players don't really care about the story/continuity, it could easily be rebranded, and on top of that it literally would take five seconds to come up with an in-canon explanation:

The guild researched the wirebugs and created a synthetic wirebugs to spread throughout the guild as new technology. If hunters can learn how to use 14 giant weapons, they can learn a Spider-Man gadget lmfao

Going from rise to wilds is very jarring. The new monsters are really cool, wounds are cool, and I like the always running environments, but put bluntly wilds is a massive downgrade.

The levels in rise are clearly designed around the enhanced vertical movement and it makes exploring the maps actually breathtaking, a feeling they so desperately try to push on you during yawnfest on-rails segments in wilds. If the worlds/rise represents a division in team goals internally, where the wilds team focuses on visual/technical achievement and the rise team focuses on raw gameplay mechanics, then this is the last time I buy a game made by the wilds team.

Surprised they wanted to make a slower sequel but went for some of the fastest league mechanics (Breach, ritual, and delirium are all run and kill super fast objectives)

Kind of a swing and a miss to not use the slower gameplay to highlight/rework some of the slower league mechanics in poe1. I think Heist, Abyss (maybe Delve instead), and personally Ancestors would shine in POE 2.

That being said I think we'll get ancestor league next. We are literally going to Karui islands for act 4 so I expect an overhauled version of tattoos to be in game soon. But heist would be #1 on my list to add, replica uniques itches my collector brain and they can really go crazy with traps now.

If Berserk can be adapted, Fire Punch surely can. IDK if we will see it for a long time though. Jojo part 6 was similarly progressive and dark and it took over 20 years for it to be animated. If a studio chooses to pick it up for an adaptation, it will surely come after Chainsaw Man anime wraps up entirely (Final arc). So my guess is 2040ish if ever. It's a fantastic work but adapting the very complex ending parts might halt studios' attempts.
