Isn't it obvious, people were so reved up on the rights of Nords, Stormcloak and Ulfric. They forgot about the past, that they fought together, that the Legion, the people of Cyrodil (And Argonians ofcourse) gave their lives to save Tamriel. That they aren't oppressors, they are saviors. That now is not the time to challenge the Elves, now is a time to rebuild and get back into a position of respect and power, or divided we fall. I think Stormcloak loyalist players feel guilty and came back to be the saviors of Tamriel again and chose an Imperial player. It was sad watching both Emperor's and your legion companions die in Oblivion saving the people.
