Why would anyone commit to a GRRM project, as a producer or consumer when you know he will lose interest after the first season and move onto something else?

Game of Thrones Included a Highly Controversial Cameo That HBO Later Removed From the Show

There ate many series that I watch again and again.

GoT won't be one of them.

I was completely into it at the start, couldn't wait for each new season to come out.

Sadly once they caught up to the books they just lost their way. I know they were required to get to the ending that GRRM outlined but I fear that like GRRM himself, they had no clue as to how they could get there.

The story simply made no sense by the final season and it was clear that the producers just wanted it over and done with. Characters simply changed unrecognisably, for no apparent reason, plot holes that you could sail the Titanic through and everything was just rushed to an ending that was made to seem completely arbitrary because there was no context and myriad storylines simply abandonded.
