See AllGame Publisher Group Says Stop Killing Games Movement's Proposals Would 'Curtail Developer Choice'
As a historian, I understand that many modern games are built on copyrighted functions purchased from other entities. CoH was so easy to resurrect because it was from a time when that was at a minimum, or most of the entities were non-existent. That being said, Stop Killing Games isn't pushing for a particular solution, only that a way to extract value from games purchased and code preserved after they shut down be mandated. There is a significant amount of law that would need to be reviewed and revised to accommodate this, so the discussion should begin now.
