You actually kinda prove their point as they are talking about the show not the comic. 2 seasons in and you have to read the manhwa to know it's about to get interesting?

Personally i enjoy it, i see the background elements in play and pay attention  to the parts somewhat hidden from view, while enjoying the steady grind, familiar powers and decently animated fights.

But the base plot is lacking, pacing is off the second he's not in a dungeon, you can pretty much feel places where things just havent been included without having read the manwha. I have no doubt i'll love the manwha from page to page, that does not mean that the anime is automatically as good for someone who doesn't just want to see the fights and fancy moments animated.

Things can be based on greatness and not be great, just look at the first FMA anime
