I also am locking in Feraligatr as my starter, and Chandelure as well, since it's my favorite Pokemon (and leaked to be getting a mega). Now I just need a Grass-type to round out a fire-water-grass core. Maybe Victreebel for another Mega option with Poison coverage for Fairy types?

That's why I think it would be hard to make work again, unless the next game also follows the deserted island theme. I don't think crafting would hit the same if we're just moving into an established town.
