I think that it's best to have the DVD discs for the games you love. Then you can replay them as often as you like at no cost. If you rely on the cloud they might just delete a game you still love or charge you a lot to play it. I think the manufacturers under-estimate how much players return to old games. I must have played Far Cry 3 for example about 8 times. The problem I have though is that I have X-box and some games are Play-station only. I don't really want to buy 2 consoles.

Helloo, House Atreides of course for starters. But 30 ish years ago I used to play a simple turn-based game it might have been called just Dune or Dune God Emperor or something like that. It was fun despite being simple and a strategy logistics problem type game. It had 3 protagonists, Atreides, Harkonnens and a third group (not in the books) who had a terrorist unconventional warfare approach. Each faction had different weapons and the game was PC only, being a bit before the era of consoles. It was fun to play the game 3 times as each of the 3 factions. The AI moved the enemy like ants trying to probe your defences. Does anyone else remember that game?

I've only ever played single-player games. I wouldn't know how to play a multi-player game and would fear that other human players who do would just be too good at it and wipe me out.

I can live with it. I think that generally men prefer to play male characters and women female characters so RPG's that give people a choice are probably preferable. As there are more men than women who are into gaming, forcing the main lead to be female is a commercial risk. With The Witcher you are obliged to have a main defined character to be loyal to the stories. I think the game would be more successful with a male protagonist or a choice but people are so desperate for more Witcher material that they will make the best of it, and maybe find it quite amusing!!

The game should be my type of game as I love all the Witcher franchise. I've been slightly put off by some of the reviews so I won't rush to buy it. If I put it on my Christmas list the price will have gone down by then. I was given Greedfall and the Dark Souls games to try first which will be a new discovery for me. I know Dark Souls games are hard but I liked Elden Ring even though it was too hard to finish so we'll see how that works out. I don't usually buy games for myself unless I'm really keen to have them. They make good presents for me when family can't think of other gifts.

I couldn’t finish Elden Ring even though I loved it. Despite consulting the internet advice I couldn’t defeat bosses in the later half of the game. I think I probably got my build wrong. To start again seems an appalling prospect though I’ll probably give it a go one day. I just wish that they had made an easier level for people like me. It’s just too difficult and frustrating.

Good idea to remake Oblivion with modern tools. It’s a shame it takes so long to produce the games we want. If it’s about money I think people would pay £80-£100 for a top quality game knowing they will get 150 or more hours playing it. Maybe the advent of A.I will make it easier to create games quickly by taking out some of the grunt work.
