Gros Michel is not more powerful than Cavendish. Cavendish is by far the more powerful of the 2, which is why it's harder to obtain — You have to get a Gros Michel, have it disappear, then be lucky enough to draw a Cavendish. The reason the Gros Michel Joker dissappears more easily is because its real-life counterpart was more susceptible to disease, as stated in the write-up.
Balatro: Best Cards For Flush Hands, Ranked
For the highest difficulties, Flushes & Full-Houses. Flush is the only hand type with which I've been able to beat the Jokerless challenge. Some people prefer Full House or even 4oak over Flush due to Flush having worse planet scaling, but I think the pros outweigh the cons. Full House's are great too, they're just a little harder to get into in the early game when money is tight.
Regarding the Flush Jokers, I'm surprised Ancient Joker wasn't mentioned. It lends itself very well to Flushes and Retrigger builds.
One of my favorite Flush builds is: Smeared, Ancient, Hanging Chad, Photograph, and Blueprint or Brainstorm floating around wherever it is needed. And if you get an Ectoplasm card, any/all of the following Jokers can be the cherry on top: DNA, Certificate, Sock & Buskin, Pareidolia.
For the deck, focus on Glass face cards, but Mult and Lucky cards work very well also. Red seals are very helpful as well. It's not the craziest build, but it's fun and it can clear Gold Stake.

Hanging Chad, Pareidolia, Sock and Buskin, Blueprint. Photograph, Seltzer work well with these too. Pretty much anything that retriggers as much as possible. This is on top of something that gives you good mult+chips. Obviously you have to get a couple negative Jokers. I like to skip a lot of blinds to get as many negatives and upgraded Jokers as possible. Throwback really helps with this. It's risky, but when it works, it really pays off and is very satisfying.
For the deck, focus on glass cards and red seals. Steel and Mult for secondary options. More tarot card voucher is a must. Discount voucher and the voucher that always gives you the highest hands planet card are helpful but not completely necessary. Don't get the playing card voucher. Always move your best card to the far left so it gets triggered by Hanging Chad.
A lot of things have to line up to get all of this in one run, so I guess it's not very practical lol. Practical advice would be to go for a retrigger build in general. They can be very OP. Always go for Hanging Chad at least. That's why I listed it first. I'm not that good, but retrigger builds got me through a lot of the tougher diffuculties & challenges.
