I feel cheated by the initial premise being changed to give everyone else participation trophies and calling all of them the greatest heroes and it no longer being about how Izuku exclusively became the world's greatest hero. I hate bait-and-switch.

Yes we are aware that the ending was changed from what we were promised for years. Also, tell Horikoshi to take off the stupid mask and stop wearing it all the time like a wuss.

So "this is the story of how I became the world's greatest hero" doesn't mean what is said? Right sure. Sounds like a cop-out to me and a poor excuse for bad writing at the end and not following through with what we were promised from the beginning.

My mother has been deceased since 2012. Looking back, I came to realize that if I could have done anything to prevent her passing I would do it, no matter what. His decision is completely justified as mom does come first. I would do anything to have my mom back so I could be there for her and her for me instead of being alone. It might just be an anime, but this is an important lesson. Love and cherish your mother while you still have her in your life, no matter what. All other things be damned.

At the end of the day, Dadan is Luffy's real mother. She raised him the majority of his life and that's more than enough for her to qualify. Dragon and his wife/partner (whoever she is/was) is irrelevant because they were not there for him and, for all intents and purposes, abandoned him for one reason or another.
