I think Imu has a devil fruit but he/she is an awakened mythical zoan that took over his/her personality. They mentioned in the story how it's hard for zoan's to retain control when awakened but so far that information has served no real purpose to the story so I think it will become relevant with Imu. Imu basically became the actual demon he/she had a mythical zoan of.
