Exactly my thoughts (so have a MA in medieval European/Scandinavian history, and loved Banner Saga, so when I saw it on this list I immediately thought "What? There is no way this is based off of historical eve-...... Oh, they're pretending mythology and legends are history, got it;)

Great game and series nonetheless.

#2 & 3 are Rainbow Six and Doom 2016, and retro shooters are having their big day, so it checks out. I see what the author means by "satisfying", and honestly can't thing of many other modern ones that are better (aside from Vermintide!!!!)

Some excellent selections. I'll add that both Dark Sun: Shattered Lands and especially Betrayal at Krondor were absolute trailblazers in TBT games, the latter of which is still highly enjoyable (and both of which have spectacular soundtracks).

Right? They left out the grandaddy of them all. And it was a pretty epic "late-game-ish" plot twist to boot.

Also, playing as Bowser in Super Mario RPG was great.

Best Isometric Horror Games, Ranked

Great list with some great new and classic games....but, as an owner of Project Zomboid, enough with skyrocketing it to the top of every conceivable list already. In terms of "best survival horror game" it's inexplicably beating out games with deep narrative, more varied plots and locales, better graphics, character development, dialogue, combat, etc., etc. Give me a break.
