Nope if they are following Tolkiens books then the only Wizard he could be is one of tge Blue Wizards. They came in the 2nd age and went into the East. Saruman or Gandalf waa never in Middke Earth until the 3rd age. I believe Amazon has agreement to stay within Tolkiens lore. To not go out side it and make up there own.
