See All2025 is Suddenly a Massive Year For Zombie Fans
Yeah, same. Everything in the first just looked and felt more... Right. I really don't like the more cartoonish-ish look they went for with dl2, the characters are kinda meh, the stamina system is a bummer imo, and the way every single conversation and opening door has to be a cutscene is so frustrating.
I get that they were going for a more open world rpg thing, and they definitely did a fine job at that, but I just think that it's wrong direction. I'm 20 hours into the game, and I don't really know wtf I am trying to do in this game. What is my goal, my motivation, and how do I get there? Ohhhh, I am trying to save my sister that may or may not be alive, but how? I gotta simp for some pk and do a ton of side quests that takes the game away from focusing on making the decent concept of the story into something fun, intriguing and playable, and instead focuses on boring the crap outta me with "talk to this guy, go get this thing, dropkick this tiny gang of Renegades into oblivion". It just gets tedious.
Do yeah, sorry for going on a huge rant, it just blows my mind how they can make the first installment where they get literally EVERYTHING RIGHT and then remove half of it and replace it with something pretty meh. Why? Just why?
Anyway, still a pretty fun game, and doing wallruns followed up by dropkicking a zombie to pieces will never get boring, no matter how many wrong choices you make, so yeah, pretty decent game, just a few complaints.
Tl;dr: I agree. Dying light 1 = masterpiece. Dying light 2 = Meh pretty decent and fun game, but nothing special.

Sons of the Forest? Pretty sure it had its full release in February 2024
8 Best Escape Room Horror Games
At dead of night should definitely have been on this list. A really good horror escape room game that masterfully connects live-action and video game elements. The different stories you experience while trying to piece together what on earth happened in this Haunted Hotel add a truly unique sense of emotional relation to the characters and their stories.
Definitely worth a try, and with a sequel/prequel (hopefully) coming out soon, you'll have some extra content to look forward to after you've finished the first.
