My Hero Academia: Horikoshi Finally Reveals Deku's Future After The End Of The Series
I am not particularly fond of how Izuku and Ochaco abruptly develop romantic feelings for one another throughout the series; it appears rather hasty and lacks the gradual progression that is often crucial in creating a convincing romantic storyline. Although both characters possess a strong connection built through their experiences as heroes-in-training, the shift from friendship to romantic interest seems somewhat contrived, as if the narrative was merely attempting to fulfill a requirement rather than allowing their relationship to develop naturally. There were instances throughout the series where their camaraderie was clear, especially during battles where they depended on each other’s strengths, but those instances did not necessarily establish a foundation for a romantic relationship. Instead, it almost seems as though the writers opted to pair them together to meet audience expectations for a love story, overshadowing the more intricate aspects of their characters and the personal growth they experience. It would have been more captivating to witness their relationship evolve gradually, with subtle hints and shared experiences that enhance their connection before diving into romance. This approach would enable the audience to fully appreciate the complexity of their emotions and the importance of their bond, rather than perceiving it as an afterthought in an already action-driven narrative. Also sorry if this is long to read, I loathed the Izuku x Ochaco ship the whole time she has feeling for him.
