I think this anecdote is a good reminder that actors are also just people doing a job, and sometimes the stress of that job can result in big emotions. I remember Bale getting a lot of flack for this, but in the aftermath it was clear that the behind-the-scenes people weren't being entirely respectful of his and the other actors' process. Either way, film sets are intense work environments, and things like this probably happen more than we know!
