I mean, the sci-fi genre has some real potential bangers coming... Exodus, Mass Effect 4 (So hoping Bioware gains legs back) Outer Worlds 2, et cetera... Anything Santa Monica or Naughty Dogs came out with in the Sci-Fi genre would have to be pretty profound, I'd think. We'll see. I've always liked both studios, but they have a row to hoe I think.

Obsidian tends to stray away from the romance stuff. Even the couple of games that "had it," Fallout: New Vegas and Pillars of Eternity 2, it wasn't to any significant degree. Their view has always been that it takes away from storytelling.

You know, I get the AI concerns, I do. You Know what really perplexes me though? It's how many act as if AI were an entity unto itself. Instead of people going after the designers and programmers, they attack the technology itself. It baffles me frankly.

Far Cry is one of those franchises that has a conundrum that's difficult to overcome. Far Cry had a formula that was successful for quite some time. The problem was, it also became a franchise that once you had played one, you had played all of them, excepting locales. So, they decided to make changes, which they had to if the franchise was going to continue in any form or fashion, and many gamers just didn't care for the changes made. 🤷‍♂🤷🤷‍♂🤷 Where they go from here I really have no idea. Assassin's Creed has pretty much the same dilemma. While AC had tried to move towards a more rpgish format, it's been met with criticism. Thing is, it had to move in some direction because it was getting stale.

Personally, I am really looking forward to this game. For one, I miss Fable. Secondly, it sounds like something they're genuinely putting effort into. It's not just some "Souls" clone slapped together as difficult as they can get it because they THINK that's what gamers want.
