Honestly, I think part 2 wrapped up the story of Ellie perfectly. We don't really need to revisit that world again. I'd be happy if Naughty Dog & Druckman move on to create new, compelling IPs at the same quality as TLoU.

So, it's a first person looter/shooter. I'm not going to be looking at my VH all the time while I'm playing, like I would in a 3rd person POV game. Who cares? Besides, the game will have a bazillion cosmetic customizations for the player to choose from. What I care about is gameplay and story...people should be more interested in who the protagonist is.
